Roch Lobster Lunch at Dirty Laundry

After the Giants Head Grind Race has come and gone for another year, you may be looking to do a bit of wine touring on Sunday. Well, have we got good news for you!

On Sunday, May-17 at 12:00 pm, Roch Fortin returns with his fresh lobster lunch specials on the Patio at Dirty Laundry Vineyard. Roch will be there from 12-2 pm serving up his Maritime delights. $34.95 includes lobster, bread, salad & dessert.

And here’s the best part (besides the wine and lobster, of course)… Dirty Laundry is generously donating part of their proceeds that day to the Giants Head Grind! So, thank you once again, Dirty Laundry, for your continued support of our great cause.

ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Call (250) 494-8815 right away to book your table!

This is it! Registration closes today… Mon, May 11.

And, we’ve hit our goal of 300 Racers!

Everyone who has taken the time to register, promote, tweet and Facebook the Giants Head Grind – Christopher Walker Memorial Race has played a huge role in getting us to our goal of 300 Racers. Last year, being the beginner race organizers that we were, that was our capacity. However, with a year under our belt, we’re allowing a few of you late-bloomers to register until Monday, May 11th. But that’s it!

Don’t wait.

For all of you who haven’t registered and keep meaning to, or are yet undecided… this is your last chance! Join a team, race as an individual… or just come for the BBQ. Whatever the case, do not miss out on being part of this very worthwhile and exceptionally fun event.

Click the “Get Involved” button NOW!

More costumes this year please!

You have a choice:

  1. You can do the Giants Head Grind in your work out wear, your hiking gear or your street clothes. Lots of people will do just that and have lots of fun. Or…
  2. You can do the Giants Head Grind in a costume and win PRIZES!

Here are two of our favourites from last year’s race to get your ideas flowing for this year:

Giants Head Grind Rack Cards are Now Available.

As we get closer to race day, we have been doing a little marketing of our own that we wanted to share with you…

4x8_GHG_RackCard_front-2015 4x8_GHG_RackCard_backThis is the front and back of our “4×8 Rack Cards”, which, if you’re an Okanagan local, you’ll start seeing at local businesses around the area.

Be sure to take a few to share with your friends and family!

And of course, if you’d like to have some for your business, let us know and we’ll send some your way.

Great Marketing. Important Message.

As we continue on this quest of bringing awareness to colon cancer as the second leading cause of both male and female cancer-related deaths in Canada, and the recognition that with early detection and treatment over 90% of these cancer-related deaths could and should have resulted in a full recovery, we have also been looking to like-minded organizations for inspiration.

no-one-wants-to-see-this-merediths-miracles-colon-cancer-foundationOne such organization is a non-profit out of the United States, Meredith’s Miracles, which we discovered when we found this hilarious transit campaign.

Would this get your attention…?

I think so! But it’s the message underneath that is really important:

“NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THIS EXCEPT FOR YOUR DOCTOR.

Colon cancer is the second most deadly cancer. But, detected early, it’s also one of the most treatable.”

Well done, Meredith’s Miracles.
